The advent of a rail spur from Boston was key in bringing supplies such as topsoil which was desperately needed on the rocky shoreline. The former owner of the Wyck Estate in Manchester by-the-Sea once said that it took 200 men over four years to landscape the property.

No longer do we produce our work by shear manpower alone, but rely on trucks, equipment and machinery to help us in virtually every task we undertake.
